The Avenue Road team is waiting in anticipation to meet the 2021-22 student cohort and make meaningful connections with you, our community! If you have concerns about student entry tomorrow, please know that we will have all hands on deck to help your child find their teacher and make their way into the school in the most efficient way possible.

One of our ongoing issues around the school has been the challenge with motor vehicle congestion at the beginning and end of the school day. This, as you can imagine, creates some safety concerns for our students and we are asking for your ongoing assistance. You will notice that the City of Cambridge has put in place some new signage along Gail St. for traffic calming. In collaboration with the school and the City of Cambridge, Student Transportation Services of Waterloo Region has initiated the Drive to 5 campaign. Its aim is to move traffic from the school vicinity through identifying street parking that is a 5 minute walk to the school. Through maps and signage, parents can easily navigate alternate areas to drop off their children while reducing unsafe car traffic in front of the school. Please have a look at the Avenue Road Parking Map to find a safe and legal space to park just a few minutes away from the school to reduce dangerous congestion and allow students a safer walk to school. Parking in the school parking lot is reserved for staff and emergencies only.

Avoid traffic. Be part of the solution.

Thank you!
